You should walk slowly and smoothly with Vanquish 440, just like with all Minelab metal detectors. Hold the search coil 1 inch above the ground, and each wave of the coil should cover 1/3 of the previous one. A nice bonus is that you don’t have to take extremely small steps or bend over (it is quite annoying). Minelab’s Vanquish 540 is the top dog in their new Vanquish series of metal detectors. I’ve received many questions about whether Vanquish 440 is more similar to the 540 or 340 models? I would say that it is 540. Even though the 540 model shows different results, and it has some new functions as well as the possibility of wireless connection, the 340 model is still better in terms of a sensitivity level and detection depth. The Vanquish line of metal detectors is the newest offering from Minelab. These detectors are meant to cater to beginning and intermediate metal detectorists. The Vanquish 540 is the top dog in this line and has some excellent features. This model features Minelab’s patented Multi-IQ technology. Larger Coil: Still a Double-D one, yet it is a larger one with 12*9 inches of dimensions… This will make the machine about 0.3 pounds (100 Grams) heavier (not significant I would say …) yet this will allow you to cover much more space while detecting.

More than that, the real intelligence of the system is that the Multi-IQ processing will collate and compare the signals from all operating frequencies, I, too, have all the bases covered for the detecting I most enjoy doing and appreciate what I get in performance out of the basically simple yet functional V-540. Conductive Soil: If you are dealing with a ground rich in minerals and/or magnetic particles, Vanquish detectors won’t be able to deal 100% perfectly with it unless you’ve learnt your machine perfectly … On the other hand, Equinox detectors are designed to deal with mineralized soil properly!

I also really like the vibration target alert on the Simplex +. This is handy when you are metal detecting in an area that is populated and you either cannot hear your metal detector well, do not want to wear headphones (or it is dangerous to do so), or you simply do not want to draw too much attention to yourself or bother others with the constant beep of a metal detector. This feature is also handy when shallow diving without headphones. The vibration is easy to feel underwater and extremely helpful. It is also a good thing for those hard of hearing. The company designed a new shaft for its new metal detectors product line, as it was done for Minelab Go-Find. However, unlike that model, this one has a sectional shaft and it’s not that small sized. If the price is too high for your budget, I would be incredibly comfortable recommending the other two Vanquish models, also. The 340 is a great, easy to use detector for beginners, while the 440 has a few more features, but remains simple to use. Both are less expensive than the 540 and have many of the same features. The 540 does have more customization and discrimination settings, so it will be great for more intermediate detectors. Battery: the 540 comes with rechargeable batteries instead of replaceable ones that the 440 and 340 have. They are even more than ordinary if compared with the rivals. Since, I believe this is the time to move on and offer the users something more than a standard control unit on a primitive shaft.Inland lakes are great for hunting treasures, as weekend visitors may lose jewelry and other valuables like coins. Using the jewelry mode on the lake beach is a good start, and you can walk the shore and into the water up to 1m deep. The Minelab Equinox series consists of the Equinox 600 and 800. These were the first metal detectors to feature Minelab’s Multi-IQ technology. The Vanquish has waterproof coils up to 1 m (3.3 ft) and Water Resistant control pod (with optional Rain Cover).
